The any voting member present at the February 7, 2020 General Meeting will be allowed to vote in accordance with our bylaws.

Tim Pimentel has agreed to run our elections again this year, and I want to express my thanks to him for stepping up and showing the spirit of volunteerism that makes the DAS function.

    Positions open for nomination are:

    • President
    • Vice-President
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary
    • Trustee (8 seats open)

If you, or someone you know, are a member in good standing, and are interested in any of these seats, please reach out to our elections officer (Tim) when nominations are open.  More details will be published as the nominations window gets closer.

Very disappointing that we won't be able to observe the Mercury Transit today. You can livestream at https://www.space.com/ and also get updates from the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory: https://mercurytransit.gsfc.nasa.gov/2019/

Due to inclement weather, we cannot open the dome at Chamberlin Observatory to attempt to view the transit. Next chance: 2049.
